Hey #MaruFans! It’s been awhile, but I have been insanely busy. Expect a bunch of fun updates next week. Until then I’ll whet the palette with a very interesting job I did recently. I was tasked to do Marvel’s character “Immortus”. I only had to sculpt the helmet and paint the head.. but it was quite a task. The client wanted me to utilize a DCMM Ra’s Al Ghul head. I was surprised that under the factory paint job, there is a pretty nice sculpt. In order to make the helmet I had to get creative. The shear height of it could really turn a figure top heavy if too much sculpt was added, so I cut a cylinder out of an action figure blister card and super glued it to the head. I then sanded it down to a height I was happy with and then began sculpting. As usual, I used my go to sculpt, Aves Fix-It sculpt. This actually took me three sculpting sessions. One to add the base layer. A second to add the flat piece in the front (which is cut and shaped from plastic ID badge/ credit card material.) Finally, the third session was the paint. I used citadel paints like I always do. I sure hope you enjoy the final product as my client was very pleased. Take it easy, Marufans and stay tuned for a huge update.
