Hello, Marufans! Today I bring you a classic tale of a beautifully sculpted figure plagued by shoddy, weak joints. This has been an issue with DC Direct problems from the very beginning and unfortunately it has transferred over to DC Collectibles. For some reason they continue to use a very brittle, clear plastic/resin that is extremely susceptible to breaking. Well, now that they are adding incredible articulation to their figures… it means more joints… meaning more breaks.  So today students, I teach you how to fix some of these issues. The bicep swivel is a simple fix at that. The weird thing is that it actually is NOT the clear resin that I was speaking of earlier. This fella straight up twisted off. So, we insert a screw (cut of course so the tip doesn’t go all the way through!) to the exact distance of the previous peg. Make sure you add a dab of superglue to the screw before inserting it. This will give you added security whilst twisting.  Done with that part.  The next fix requires a bit more work. If you look closely, you can see that the broken forearm peg is the clear resin. It looks like they attempted to paint it before hand. Which may have led to the break. Sometimes the paint will stick and cause it to harden and secure inside the joint hole. This is partly the cause for some breaks, but the real culprit is that this type of plastic just does not deal well with stress (kind of like a human).  So, I rummaged through my fodder bins and found a solid plastic peg that was big enough for me to dremel down and shape it like the original peg. You can see the process pictured below. After I had dremeled the shape I desired, I inserted the peg to test it’s mobility. After that was done, I mixed some Citadel Chainmail and Enchanted Blue (about 25/75 mix). Voila! Mr. Wilson can hold his sword, gun and paycheck once again.  I hope you learned something today and I was able to help you. Always remember, if you can’t fix your figures, you can always pay me to and I’ll feature them on the site! Have a great day!
